Everyone Should See a Chiropractor

When people tell me that they don’t need to see a chiropractor, while respecting his or her choice that he/she does not want to see a chiropractor, I feel that this choice may be due to a lack of information or understanding how the body works.

A chiropractor's primary goal is to reduce spinal subluxations. Subluxations are improper motion and/or position of the vertebrae with associated soft tissue and nerve irritation. The nerve irritation arising from subluxations can affect organs and tissues supplied by these nerves throughout the body adversely affecting your health and well-being.

You may not yet have symptoms arising from your subluxations as they may be affecting an internal function, such as digestion, that does not cause pain. Also, a chiropractor can detect subluxations before they become symptomatic. Subluxations will progress silently until they become symptomatic and often require much more care than if they were caught early.

Subluxations are caused by stress. This stress may take many forms such as physical trauma, repetitive stress, postural stress, poor nutrition and emotional stress. When the body is unable to adequately deal with stress it encounters spinal subluxations develop. Everyone on this earth has to deal with stress (some more than others) both physical and emotional.

All people have stress on their bodies. Stress causes subluxations. Subluxations have ill effects on one’s health, symptomatic or not. Chiropractic, through precise, gentle adjustments reduce subluxations. It is, therefore, important everyone to see a chiropractor as part of a healthy lifestyle.
