Once I see a chiropractor, do I have to keep going for the rest of my life?

How long you decide to benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you. Getting adjusted for a short period of time does not necessitate further care but your condition may regress to back to it's original state. Subluxations are not usually removed with only one adjustment. When the adjustment is performed nerve irritation is removed restoring proper circulation to the area so that the body can heal. Often, because there is significant damage to the area the vertebrae will gradually lose it's proper function again. With each subsequent adjustment more healing takes place and your body will hold the adjustment for a longer period of time. The longer an injury has been present, the longer it will usually take to heal because of the significant damage caused by starving the body of it's proper nutrition.
